Description
The Hayward Shaft Kit (ECX1014A) is the OEM replacement shaft assembly for Hayward Perflex Extended-Cycle DE filters, restoring the internal drive mechanism that powers the flex-tube bump action.
The shaft assembly is the central mechanical component within the Perflex filter’s bump handle system. It transmits the manual stroke from the bump handle down through the filter body, allowing the flex tubes to dislodge accumulated DE cake during the bump cycle and restore flow without requiring a full backwash.

Before replacing the shaft, inspect the bump handle O-ring and any shaft seals for wear these components are exposed to the same mechanical stress and often benefit from replacement at the same service interval. Drain the filter and relieve all system pressure before removing the shaft assembly.
