Description

The THERMWELL V27GA is a self-adhesive rubber weather seal tape designed to close air and moisture gaps around windows and doors. The ribbed cushion profile compresses to fill wide gaps and rebounds to retain its shape even after exposure to freezing temperatures. At 9/16 inches wide, 5/16 inches thick, and 10 feet long, one roll covers a single average window or door. The gray rubber construction resists hardening and cracking under seasonal temperature swings, making it a dependable choice for year-round weatherization work.

This tape is suited for residential and light commercial applications wherever drafts, dust, or moisture infiltrate at window or door perimeters. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing allows for straightforward field installation without additional fasteners or tools beyond a clean, dry surface. It is commonly applied by general contractors, HVAC service techs addressing thermal bypass issues, and facilities maintenance personnel performing seasonal envelope sealing.

Installation Notes

Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before applying the tape oils, dust, or moisture will reduce adhesive bond strength. Peel the backing and press the tape firmly along the door stop or window sash, ensuring consistent contact along the full length of the run. No special tools are required, but a roller or firm thumb pressure improves adhesion. Remove and replace any deteriorated existing weatherstrip before applying new tape to ensure a flat, even bonding surface.
