Differences Between Brass & Aluminum Nozzles
Generally speaking both brass and aluminum fire hose nozzles are highly durable and have an excellent lifespan. The main difference is weight with aluminum being about half the weight and stronger than brass. Brass may be used for special applications where maximum anti-corrosion is required such as on marine or energy applications. Extruded anodized aluminum also has high anti-corrosive properties but brass is still the industry standards today, whether justified on paper or not.

Nozzles are usuallyequipped with a female swivel fitting so it can screw onto the threaded male end of any discharge hose.
